Our work with legacy code doesn’t often put us in a position to move quickly into new or trendy tooling. And while we almost always introduce Docker very early in our projects, it is usually only for the purpose of standardizing and easing setup of developer environments. Transitioning a live environment to containers, however, can be a daunting prospect. There are a variety of reasons for that, many of which you’ve probably encountered yourself, which include: 1. The application isn’t in the cloud yet 2. It’s too complicated 3. Container orchestration (like Kubernetes or Swarm) is too new/buggy/insecure 4. We need microservices to leverage Kubernetes 5. The application is a monolith All these might be valid reasons, but this talk will focus on our experiences in that last scenario — containerizing a monolith.
Deploying an IaaS Lab Active Directory Environment using ARM and DSC.
CANDI How administrators, app makers, and developers ensure their PowerApps environments are running smoothly?
Microsoft Azure is an awesome platform to run your organization workloads. It supports Cloud native and non-native workloads. It's easy and fast to getting started. After moving and creating several resources in Azure some customers are struggling by the lack of a robust cloud governance structure. This session is target at organization of all sizes, not only big large organizations need governance, every single organization needs it. We will review the native services in Azure that can help you on your governance journey. We will talk and see in action: Management Groups, Azure Policy, Tags, Azure Blueprints, CAF - Cloud Adoption Framework and even a little bit of Cost Management.

In this hands on session we will see how to use Azure DevOps to build and then publish a docker image as an Azure App Service, using Azure Container Registry.
As software engineers, we build applications that eventually run on one or more servers, which consume electricity. Electricity is commonly generated by coal, oil, gas; when burned, they produce carbon dioxide (CO2), which is the main driver of climate change. Clearly, our software applications have an environmental impact based on the resources (CPU, number of servers, etc.) that they consume. What can we do to reduce the environmental footprint of our software applications? This session provides practical guidelines that will help you reduce or even eliminate the emissions of carbon dioxide associated with your software applications, a process that is also known as decarbonization. It is assumed you are involved in building software applications and aspire to help prevent climate change.
Harnessing the unique behaviour of quantum physics and applying it to computing, quantum computers introduce new concepts to traditional programming methods such as superposition, entanglement, and quantum interference. Microsoft, having a clear mindset towards the coming quantum era, is partnering with quantum hardware companies to provide developers with cloud access to quantum hardware. Leveraging the Azure Quantum platform and the Q# language, developers are now able to explore quantum algorithms and run their quantum programs on different types of quantum hardware. In this session, we will explore Azure Quantum’s capabilities and run a Q# quantum application on a real quantum computer.
These days, working with a cloud platform is already commonplace. Companies choose Microsoft Azure for a number of benefits, including security. But there are some responsibility on the customer side and that's may become weakest link in the chain. A demo-based session shows attacks on the weakest link in 3 scenarios: Hybrid Active Directory, Legacy VM-based application and Modern Application. The session includes: - Pentesting Azure AD Connect - Bypassing authentication & MFA - Getting control over Compute - Extracting secrets from Key Vault - Getting Access to App Service and Azure SQL Database - Exploring Azure Web App Firewall
The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely accelerated technological adoption. But what about Cybersecurity? Employers aren't working anymore at one specific "safe" network perimeter, they are working from anywhere using a variety of tools. So, how we can monitor all these logs, detect potential threats and respond before is too late? Do not worry, Azure Sentinel is here to save us! In this session we will make an introduction to Azure Sentinel , explain it's basic concepts and hunt potential threats in real time! Can’t Sleep at Night..? Just setup Azure Sentinel right! Do not forget to join..!
When apps are hosted in AKS, chances are that those will need to access other Azure services. Chances are also that there are some constraint in terms of security for those access, such as not writing password in the code. AAD Pod Identity is a way to answer that. Interesting in modernizing your apps on K8S while keeping your SecOps happy ? Then come discover the what and how of Pod identity in AKS and discover the steps from AKS deployment to pods accessing Azure services with managed identities
On premise security measures and strategies need to expand to the cloud. Let's check how cybersecurity evolves from on premise to a cloud solution.
What are Neural Nets really? What does Machine Learning mean, and how does Deep Learning differ from it? What does Azure offer for all of those? In this session, I try to explain concepts, and give some guidance on the above.
